Cozumel on Breakaway

In July of 1990 Terri and I flew down to Cozumel and met up with Jack and Joann Moser.  Jack had taken his 34 foot sailing vessel, Breakaway, down a few weeks earlier and we were going to help he and Joann sail her home to Port Arthur, Texas. Wendall "Gabe" and Cheri Gabier also made the trip down on their boat, Canvasback.  We did get to spend some time in Cozumel before we pulled anchor.

Here is a shot of Breakaway riding at anchor in front of San Miguel, Cozumel.

A shot of the world famous "Carlos and Charlies" at its old location on the front street.  It has now moved, but I have fond memories of having "Sangria Shooters" at this site.  They also had pretty good bbq ribs too.

Here's a shot of myself on the right and Gabe on the left diving "Palancar Reef".

Here's a shot of Terri on the left and our divemaster on "Palancar Reef".

After the dive on Palancar Reef, we anchored in front of a beach bar and swam in for some much needed refreshments.

After a few refreshments, we head back out to the dive boat.

After we pulled anchor and headed home we stopped off for a few days in "Isla Mujeres".  Put in at the fuel dock and had a really nice time.  Terri decided to do the laundry while we were there.  You can see Jack, Joann, and Terri just to the left of the boat's stern.
