On the following pages you will see a step by step surgical procedure.  This 5 # Chihuahua has an enormous mucocoele (salivary gland cyst).  This procedure was performed 2/4/2009 and as of 6:00 PM the same day, the little dog was doing very well.  Was up and responsive and had been visited by his owners.

I would like to thank Jennifer Harris for taking these photographs.  You don't know how much you are appreciated.

You can see how large the mass is right before surgery.

The first incision.

Undermining the skin and subcutaneous tissue around the mass.

Exteriorizing the mass so I can get to the visualize the vital structures underneath.

Almost completely exteriorized.
