Oahu Trip 2011 Page Seven
On Sunday we rented a car and drove up to the North Shore. Went by the Dole Plantation and saw pineapples growing. Also went by the Bonsai Pipeline surfing area but the big waves only come in the Winter months. Then went through Waimea Valley Rainforest Botanical Park. Got lots of shots of really nice and unusual flowers. Posted a few here.
I always thought they grew sitting on the ground. They are actually up on a stalk-like structure.
My niece and a friend became pineapple thieves. I heard later that Dole Security was looking for them.
Here we are in the rainforest. You can catch a glimpse of a waterfall in the background.
